Scope of work

Clough, through its PNG subsidiary, Clough Niugini completed the design and construction for the overall Lihir project development which included the operation of an open-cut gold mine, an ore processing plant to produce gold bullion and complete infrastructure facilities.

The project inovled the supply of labour and equipment to erect/install client supplied materials to construct a pressure oxidation facility including 3 x 400 tonnes autoclaves,  25,000 cubic metres of concrete construction and industrial buildings, 1,000 cubic metres of buildings (including wards), structural steel erection and mechanical equipment installation for the grinding, conveying and crushing facilities, and to excavate 6 x reef channels approx 9,500 cubic metres. 

The project also delivered of the Londolovit Medical Facility, which provided a high quality first class medical facility to the gold mine operations. The facility includes emergency, theatre, treatment, X-ray, dentist, pharmacy, delivery, male/female isolation wards, a laboratory and a morgue.
