Clough is a proud supporter of National Tree Day. This year our Clough and e2o teams rolled up their sleeves and came together in support for Australia’s largest tree planting and nature are event. The event is always a great opportunity to get outside, do something good for the planet and connect with the local community.

In 2021, Clough began its partnership with Loop Upcycling (Loop) to reduce textile waste from all its projects in Australia. Through this partnership, Loop creates duffle bags, laundry bags, bucket hats and other travel products and accessories by upcycling every component of PPE shirts, jackets and pants, that otherwise would end up in landfill.

Loop aims to minimise waste and create a positive social impact in the community by providing employment opportunities to women with flexible work conditions that empower them through skill development, entrepreneurship, and ethical wages.

Our Lombrum Infrastructure Project team in Manus Island, Papua New Guinea, exercised their green thumbs in honour of World Environmental Day. The team transplanted over 200 native marine tree seedlings into nursery bags along the Papitalai Camp and Main Camp shoreline. Manus Island has been affected by king tides, so the seedlings will be left to grow and will be planted at the end of the project to help rehabilitate the shoreline and minimise the degradation caused by climate change and the rise in sea level.

In recognition of Earth Day 2023, our Lombrum Infrastructure Project team in Papua New Guinea visited Lombrum Primary School to speak to the students about the importance of keeping the environment clean before they made pledges to Invest in our Planet by signing a collaborative, colourful hand painting. This was followed by the team and the students taking to the Lombrum camp foreshores to collect rubbish. Overall, they collected over 100kg of waste, an amazing effort by everyone involved!
