Wellbeing at Clough

SUPPORTING OUR PEOPLE

Mental health and well-being are core components of our safety culture. We take responsibility for supporting the positive well-being of our people and are committed to fostering a mentally healthy work environment that is free from all forms of harm.

We are committed to ensuring our people have access to tools and resources they need to feel supported both in the workplace and outside of it.

We have implemented a wide range of initiatives, programs, and partnerships to provide our people with ongoing training and resources to support themselves, their colleagues, and our wider communities.

OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS

FAMILY AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SUPPORT PROGRAM

In 2022 we signed our partnership with Orana House to work on the creation of a Family and Domestic Violence (FDV) support program for Clough employees.

Together we have developed a program which includes education and awareness training, emergency support, paid FDV leave, flexible work arrangements, and a range of additional holistic supports when employees require them.

We have trained a number of employee Emergency Care Contacts, who are equipped with the tools and knowledge to provide emergency support and assistance to co-workers in need.

MATES IN CONSTRUCTION

We have been a proud partner of MATES in Construction since 2020 as part of our commitment to build a positive mental health culture.

MATES provides mental health and suicide prevention education and training through development programs on sites, and by supporting workers in need through case management and a 24/7 help line.

The framework of our partnership is underpinned by The Australian Building and Construction Industry Blueprint for Better Mental Health and Suicide Prevention (2018 – 2020). The Blueprint draws on initiatives that are proven to effectively build mentally healthier workplaces. We were proud to be the first organisation in Western Australia to sign the Blueprint with MATES in Construction WA.

Through MATES’ General Awareness Training and Connector Training, we have equipped our people with important tools they can use to support their peers on site and help keep someone safe in a crisis while connecting them to professional help.

PRIDE IN DIVERSITY

Since 2022, we have been proud partners of Pride in Diversity, Australia’s first and only not-for-profit employer support program focusing on LGBTQIA+ workplace inclusion.

Together, we are building greater understanding, support and allyship within our workplace for the LGBTQIA+ community by engaging our people with in-office and on-site Awareness Training sessions and a diverse range of learning materials and opportunities.

Pride in Diversity is a social inclusion initiative of ACON which specialises in HR, organisational change, and workplace diversity. Its primary goal is to improve the health and well-being of LGBTQIA+ individuals by combating exclusion, invisibility, homophobia, and stigma in the workplace.
