Clough, in association with Kaiser Engineers of San Francisco and Kappele, Wright and MacLeod Ltd. of Toronto, completed the design, construction and commissioning services for a highly automated brewery with an initial capacity of 2.5 million hectolitres of beer per annum.
The project involved the delivery of seperate buildings to house the brewing process facilities and a packaging plant with all operations fully automised by a state-of-the-art computer-based automatic valve and process control system.
The complex includes a wastewater treatment plant, administration buildings and a Solar Centaur diesel fuelled gas turbine generator. This provides emergency backup power that has an output of 2.4 megawatts at 3.3 kilovolt and is installed with an automatic start-up control device. The brewery was constructed over a 30 month fast-track schedule.
