Deliver a sustainable future with WA’s landmark urea project!  

Clough, as part of a Joint Venture with Saipem, is delivering the ‘Project CERES’ urea plant, a landmark project for Western Australia. The plant will be the largest in Australia and one of the largest in the world, installing the most sustainable production processes. The project is expected to generate 2,000 jobs during the construction phase, whilst delivering sustained benefits to the local community through career, training and business opportunities.


We are currently searching for an E&I Superintendent to join our site-based (Chennai, India) team on Project Ceres. Reporting to the Project Director, the position will be responsible for the oversight and management of electrical construction/fabrication works at our module yard in Chennai. This involves coordinating with project managers, engineers and other stakeholders to ensure all activities are executed efficiently, safely and in accordance with project as well as Australian specifications and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the local electrical and instrumentation teams, ensuring work is completed according to project plans, schedules, and quality standards.
  • Work to upskill local employees in order to help prevent risk and increase inspection standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to review project specifications, requirements, and timelines.
  • Supervise installation, fabrication and construction of electrical systems, control panels, instrumentation and related equipment.
  • Ensure all electrician and instrumentation work adheres to industry standards, codes and guidelines. Implement and enforce quality control procedures to guarantee high standards of workmanship.
  • Promote a culture of safety on site and conduct regular audits.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including installation logs, maintenance reports and inspection results.
  • Manage relationships with subcontractors and suppliers. Ensure that materials and equipment are delivered on time and meet safety standards.

Key Requirements

  • Ability to work a 6:2 rotation to Chennai, India required.
  • 10+ years of experience in a similar position.
  • International experience highly regarded.
  • Experience in an EPC or lump sum environment, particularly in Oil & Gas or Construction highly regarded.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and project specifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g Bachelors Degree, PMP and electrical licencing) are highly regarded.
  • Proven experience in leading teams required.
