Webuild has been a proud partner of the University of Melbourne since 2020, supporting high-achieving students pursuing engineering studies, this year through the Webuild Civil Engineering Scholarship Program.

The Scholarship is designed to provide financial support to talented students who demonstrate exceptional passion and commitment to the field of civil engineering.

This year, three scholarships have been awarded, and we congratulate this year’s deserving recipients who are each undertaking a Master of Civil Engineering:

•    Inass Chedid
•    Elijah Andrews
•    George Evans

This scholarship is represented by a $30,000 award, split over two years.

Marco Assorati, Webuild Executive Director APAC, said: "We are proud to continue our partnership with the University of Melbourne to support the next generation of civil engineers. This scholarship program aims to empower students in Victoria who are passionate about civil engineering and are committed to contributing to sustainable and innovative infrastructure projects, which are the very core of our business."

Inass Chedid, recipient of the Webuild Civil Engineering Scholarship, said: “I am truly honoured and grateful to be chosen for this scholarship, which will make a significant difference in my academic and professional journey. It has not only provided me with financial relief but also inspired me to strive for excellence in my studies and future career.”

Victoria is a long-standing key strategic market for the Webuild Group, which is currently, delivering the North East Link (NEL) Primary Package in Melbourne, as part of the Spark Consortium. NEL is the largest private-public partnership for an infrastructure project in Australia, and it has a strong focus on sustainability.

Additionally, Webuild, as part of Terra Verde Consortium, was recently selected as preferred bidder for the Suburban Rail Loop East Project, the largest infrastructure project in Victoria’s history. It will not only transform public transport in the growing city, but also help shape its future, delivering more homes and jobs in the communities surrounding the stations.

Webuild is committed to engaging and inspiring the next generation of STEM professionals, and this scholarship program demonstrates the Group’s dedication to contributing to the growth of the engineering and construction industries, and ensuing Australia is well-positioned to deliver the nation-building infrastructure projects that will support a sustainable future.
