Manager - Quality

Purpose of the Role

The role of the Quality Manager is responsible for creating and implementing quality planning and assurance, quality control and quality improvement.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in related field or at least 15 years of experience in a similar role of comparable complexity.

Experience

  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in quality control or quality assurance roles within the construction sector on large scale infrastructure projects or other suitable projects works.

  • Proven engagement and relationship building skills, with evidence of excellent consultation, communication, interpersonal and dispute resolution skills, showing capacity to work collaboratively with others, negotiate and exercise influence in a diversity of contexts and with management and staff at all levels to develop and implement creative, innovative and flexible solutions
  • Knowledge and understanding of quality management and systems integration preferable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and resolving quality issues, data collection, tracking and analysis, documentation, administrative and organisational skills and computer literacy.
  • Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Ability to work effectively and positively in a demanding environment.
  • Data analysis and statistical aptitude

  • Understanding Scientific and multidisciplinary engineering principles, manufacturing and multidisciplinary installation processes, methods, specifications and drawings related to Civil, Geotech, E&M, Architectural as applicable.

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
  • Contribute to project initiatives, review and communicate the impact on quality activities.
  • Prepare and monitor the project quality objectives, targets, KPI’s and related programs including status of quality NCR’s, reworks, and defects

  • Reporting to Project management on the performance of the quality management system and any needed improvement
  • Report to the Client’s Representative on quality issues in accordance with the requirements of the deed. Liaise with the Client’s Representatives on quality matters
  • Customise GLAASS Pro quality modules in conjunction with the relevant Discipline Managers to achieve the project outcomes stated in the Contract and Employers requirements
  • Identify quality control processes to ensure criteria is met.
  • Produce statistical reports and quality standards
  • Design, manage and monitor information systems
  • To understand, monitor and implement client requirements and expectations. Provide timely and accurate systems information to the Client and contractors with the aim of achieving “best practice” in quality management.
  • Ensure that the electronic format of quality documentation on GLAASS is maintained and implemented.
  • Maintain contract information databases and ensure data integrity to provide effective asset management services for clients, property and the community. Communicating quality management requirements including support and training on quality issues and QA databases to the team.
  • Work with the Document Control team, ensuring the QMP is effectively implemented, and project quality databases updated progressively.
  • Ensure stakeholder communication is clearly carried-out, full engagement in Management reporting, Team management, Time management and effectively management of issues and non-conformances.
