In celebration of International Women’s Day, we are proud to highlight some of the incredible women in our organisation.
Meet Sally Law, Project Commercial Director for Future Generation Joint Venture (FGJV), the principal contractor delivering the iconic Snowy 2.0 for project owner Snowy Hydro Limited.
As a child, Sally could regularly be seen accompanying her parents around a building site with her own tool belt and red gumboots. That passion eventually brought her to the largest pumped hydro construction project in the world as the Project Commercial Director on Snowy 2.0.
Sally is a specialist in major project delivery, commercial dispute management, contract and construction law, procurement, tendering and project management. She has a knack, both earned and innate, for resolving and avoiding disputes. Sally’s leadership style fosters collaboration and respect.
Leading the most senior position held by a woman at FGJV, Sally managed the entire team’s contributions in a dynamic and complex project environment. She built a highly collaborative working atmosphere, ensuring negotiations were conducted with a ‘best for project’ mindset, a culture now deeply embedded across the project.
In the words of FGJV’s Project Director, “Sally effectively and inspirationally manages a team of 50+ with her positive and proactive approach. Those people’s efforts impact our 3,000+ workforce. Her advice and views are valued universally on our construction sites, in my office, and in the boardrooms of our JV partners, Webuild and Clough.”
For 18 months, Sally was the only female Director on Snowy 2.0 - including across the client and major subcontractors. She has been a visible advocate for women, championing initiatives that drive real change.
Sally has helped judge NAWIC Victoria awards and sees supporting women in construction as a critical component of her own success.
Sally is also a passionate speaker, who regularly engages in events, especially those focussed on supporting women at FGJV, and in the broader community - inspiring young women to pursue career pathways in the industry.
Through her leadership, Sally has helped build on the legacy of the original Snowy Scheme. Snowy 2.0 will deliver clean, reliable storage and electricity generation for Australians for the next 150 years—and Sally’s contributions have played a key role in shaping that future.
