This Supplier Diversity Month, we’re proud to highlight Clough BMD Group Joint Venture, as the team continues to deliver opportunities for local businesses and people through the construction of the ship lift, as part of the Northern Marine Complex.

More than $291 million in subcontracts have now been awarded to Northern Territory businesses, with approximately 73% of workers currently on the project, including subcontractors, being Territorians.

A recent milestone is the award of a $62 million subcontract to Duratec for the construction of the Blast and Paint Facility and washdown bay.

At 90 metres long, 32 metres wide and 40 metres high, the Blast and Paint Facility will be a significant piece of infrastructure within the Northern Marine Complex, reaching a height comparable to a 12-storey building.

Delivered by Duratec’s Darwin branch, the project is also expected to engage more than 16 Territory subcontractors and suppliers, supporting local jobs, skills and economic opportunities across the Territory.

Clough BMD Joint Venture is the head contractor for the ship lift, as part of the Northern Marine Complex being delivered for the Northern Territory Government. The Northern Marine Complex will enable the maintenance and servicing of Defence and Australian Border Force vessels, along with commercial and private vessels from the fishing, oil and gas and marine industries.
