Deliver a sustainable future with WA’s landmark urea project!  

Clough, as part of a Joint Venture with Saipem, is delivering the ‘Project CERES’ urea plant, a landmark project for Western Australia. The plant will be the largest in Australia and one of the largest in the world, installing the most sustainable production processes. The project is expected to generate 2,000 jobs during the construction phase, whilst delivering sustained benefits to the local community through career, training and business opportunities.


We are currently searching for an Engineering Manager with a strong focus on Australian standards compliance to join our team on Project Ceres. Reporting to the Project Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the engineering team, ensuring that all projects align with Australian regulatory requirements and industry standards. You will be heavily involved with client stakeholder relations, as well as coordinating reporting on the project.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate assigned Project Engineering activities and resources across Perth and Karratha, under the direction and oversight of Project Sr. Engineering Manager located in Chennai (Project Engineering and Procurement Home Office).
  • Ensure Technical Authority presidium and enrol all necessaries project plans, programs and actions to secure Project Compliance to Australia Codes &Standards.
  • Develop and implement engineering strategies that align with Joint Venture management Plans, Project objectives, schedule company goals.
  • Lead, mentor and manage a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Ensure all engineering activities, designs and projects comply with relevant Australian standards, codes and legislations, as well as providing reporting on said activities for the client. 
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to define project scopes, timelines and deliverables.
  • Implement QA processes to ensure outputs meet Australian standards.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, clients and other external parties to ensure compliance and to reduce risk.
  • Prepare and present reports on compliance status, project progress and engineering performance to senior management, while also maintaining accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews/audits, provide feedback and identify professional development opportunities for team members.

Key Requirements

  • Masters’ Degree in either Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Plant engineering relevant professional certifications is required.
  • Proven experience (10+ years’) in engineering management.
  • Proven experience (5+ years’) in EPC or lump sum project highly regarded, preferably in either the Energy or Oil & Gas industry.
  • International Experience is also valued.
  • In-depth knowledge of Australian standards, codes and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Available for Business Trips, both to Karratha and to Chennai.
