SSTOM Project milestone - A major milestone has been achieved on the Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport project with the successful energisation of the Bulk Power Substation at the Stabling and Maintenance Facility.

Following more than two years of design, construction, integration and testing, the team has connected to the Endeavour Energy grid and received 132kV bulk power supply. This critical step enables the conversion of high voltage power into the operating voltages required for station systems and 25kV AC traction power across the network.

The project will introduce NSW’s first 25kV AC traction power system incorporating Static Frequency Converter technology, strengthening system performance and reliability for the next generation of metro services.

This achievement reflects the strong collaboration between Webuild, consortium partners, operators, regulators and network providers as we continue delivering major rail infrastructure for Western Sydney.

Webuild, as part of the Parklife Metro Consortium, is delivering the Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport Metro Line, Stations, Systems, Trains, Operations and Maintenance (SSTOM) Package.
