Precision in action at Woodman Point - The Woodman Point Water Resource Recovery Facility Upgrade project recently completed the safe removal of a section of the Odour Stack, an important aspect in improving the performance of the site’s odour extraction and treatment system.

The cone section, originally designed to add back pressure to the system, was removed following upgrades that increased the number of extraction fans from three to five.

This change meant removing the cone was essential to optimise airflow and ensure efficient system performance.

Despite limited site access, high winds, and the 52-metre height of the stack, the team safely executed the works using a 150t Liebherr crane

Careful planning and teamwork ensured the lift was completed smoothly, without disrupting ongoing operations or concrete works nearby.
