Milestone moment for North East Link - recently, the Spark North East Link Tunnels D&C team welcomed Federal Infrastructure Minister Catherine King, Transport Minister Gabrielle Williams, and Victorian MPs to the Watsonia site to mark a major project milestone - the TBMs have officially passed the halfway point of their tunnelling journey.
With over 60% of TBM tunnelling now complete and SEM tunnelling excavation wrapped up, the visit was a great opportunity to showcase the incredible progress being made on Victoria’s largest road project.
From here, crews are continuing backend works, with excavation underway on the 26th cross passage in the TBM tunnel. Smoke duct planks are also being installed in both tunnels, with more than 50 now in place.
