After excavating more than 5 million tonnes of rock and soil and completing the 5.3km tunnels between Watsonia and Bulleen, Spark North East Link Tunnels D&C is turning its attention to the next chapter.
 
Over the coming months, crews will install:

• 35,000m³ of concrete for roads

• 3,000km of cable

• ~10,000 tunnel lights

• 290 fans

• +250 switchboards

• 20 switch rooms

From civil works to complex mechanical and electrical systems, the scale of work under way is enormous.

Webuild, as part of the Spark Joint Venture, is delivering North East Link. The project will take up to 15,000 trucks off local roads every day and reduce travel times by up to 35 minutes for commuters. Once complete, it will be the longest road tunnel in Victoria.
