800m beneath the Snowy Mountains, excavation of the two massive caverns that will house Snowy 2.0’s power station complex is approaching completion. Reaching this major milestone paves the way for the next phase of construction: the permanent works that will bring the underground power station to life.

Harnessing the power of water and gravity, Snowy 2.0 will provide reliable, renewable energy storage for millions of Australian homes and businesses, with a design life of 150 years.

Hear from Grant at the Lobs Hole construction site as he shares what this achievement means for the project and what's coming next here.

Clough and its parent company, Webuild, are part of Future Generation Joint Venture - FGJV, the principal contractor for project owner Snowy Hydro, delivering Snowy 2.0. This major expansion to the Snowy Scheme will underpin Australia's transition to a renewable energy future.
