Purpose of the Role This role is responsible for overseeing and managing the tunnel lining operations in the Power Station Complex as part of the Snowy 2.0 project. The Tunnel Lining Supervisor focuses on coordinating and optimising critical activities while ensuring efficient management and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, the effective management of the team and collaboration with project stakeholders to achieve successful management. |
Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or a related field (or equivalent work experience) is preferred
- Relevant certifications in tunnelling works
- White Card
Experience - Minimum 10 years’ experience working in the construction industry in a similar role - preferred
- Experience working on large-scale construction projects or other suitable projects works
- Proven experience in Tunnel FRP works operations, specifically in tunnelling projects
- Demonstrated experience effectively leading and supervising teams involved in tunnelling

Required Competencies - Strong knowledge of concrete lining & grouting, backfilling, steel lining techniques, equipment specific to tunnelling projects
- Familiarity with relevant safety and environmental regulations related to concrete lining, grouting, backfilling, steel lining
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and project plans related to concrete lining, grouting, backfilling, and steel lining
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to address challenges
- Effective leadership and team management abilities to coordinate and guide the respective teams
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to liaise with project stakeholders, subcontractors and regulatory agencies
- Familiarity with quality control processes and procedures to ensure high standards of workmanship and adherence to project specifications
- Ability to work to deadlines and targets and prioritise tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word
- Ability and willingness to learn and use different software systems, for example E7

- Coordinate with engineering and project teams to align activities with project timelines and objectives.
- Monitor progress, assess equipment performance and adjust optimise efficiency and quality of Tunnels concrete lining, grouting, backfilling, and steel lining.
- Lead and manage the tunnelling teams, providing guidance, training and support to ensure their competency and compliance with safety standards.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions, promoting a strong safety culture and minimizing accidents or incidents.
- Foster a positive work environment, encourage teamwork and promote professional development within the teams.
- Prepare accurate and timely reports on tunnelling operations and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain records of plans, permits, and other relevant documentation.
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, providing updates on progress, challenges and recommendations.
