Lead Environment Advisor

We are looking for an experienced Lead Environmental Advisor to join our Dampier Bulk Handling Facility (DBHF) project for a FIFO position to Karratha. 

DBHF is a wharf structure to be built to support the export of urea in bulk quantities through the Port of Dampier. The project will require the demolition and removal of decommissioned marine structures, the construction a new land backed wharf and land redevelopment.

As Lead Environmental Advisor, you will be responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of Project Environment Management system consistent with and incorporating Project Strategy. 

Reporting to the QHSE Manager, the Lead Environmental Advisor will work as part of the site based HSE Team to deliver best practice environmental management strategies across the project, including the undertaking of environmental monitoring activities.

The position is on a 20:8 rotation to site in Karratha.

Your focus will include but is not limited to: 

  • Implementing the culture to achieving Zero Harm Health, Safety and Environment (including security and technical integrity) framework through the company standards, systems/processes.
  • Presenting Environment strategies and plans, results and incident reviews to Project management teams.
  • Delivery of Environment results from project wide audit program and provide reports and reviews on incident and HSE performance across the project.
  • Ensuring behaviours required, training and engagement in, and the ongoing coaching and accountability support for leaders in achieving the zero-harm culture.
  • Conduct environmental monitoring and assessments on-site.
  • Identify risks and assist in developing remedies and solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance and advice to our project delivery team.
  • Collation of reports to meet and client and legislative requirements.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Extensive experience working on major EPC or EPCM projects within infrastructure space, preferably with exposure onshore and nearshore marine wharf & jetty projects.
  • Preference for Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environment, Science, Sustainability, Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in environmental management systems and regulatory compliance
  • High level of reporting and analytical experience.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and leadership experience
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful sustainability and environmental initiatives with measurable results.
