National Safety Leaders - it’s National Safe Work Month, and we’re excited to highlight the Spark North East Link Tunnels D&C team which was named as a finalist at the National Safety Awards of Excellence for the Safety Builders Frontline Leaders Program - the Best Safety Leadership Program.

Adopted from Webuild's internationally acclaimed Safety Builders Senior Leader Program, the Frontline Leaders Program is a comprehensive training initiative aligned to Australian safety standards and project needs. It combines theory with hands-on training, and real-world examples to ensure safety is embedded as a core leadership skill. 

The training has been embedded across the project to drive sustained improvements:

  • +500 leaders have successfully completed the course

  • 100% of participants recommend the program

About Spark Joint Venture

The Spark North East Link Design & Construct Joint Venture is delivering the North East Link Program’s primary package (North East Link Tunnels) for the Victorian Government.

The project includes 6.5km of three-lane twin road tunnels to provide the missing transport link between the M80 and the Eastern Freeway, taking 15,000 trucks off local roads every day and reducing travel times by up to 35 minutes for commuters.
