Clough Wood, a leading provider of brownfield asset support to the Australasian oil and gas sector, proudly celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.

Originally established as a joint venture in 2004 between Clough and AMEC, the partnership has evolved over the years, delivering exceptional offshore and onshore operations, maintenance, and decommissioning services to energy operators in Western Australia, the Northern Territory and Timor Leste.

Over the past two decades, Clough Wood has navigated significant industry changes and achieved remarkable milestones. The joint venture was initially formed to cater to the brownfield asset support needs of the oil and gas industry. AMEC's transition to AMEC Foster Wheeler and its subsequent acquisition by Wood in 2017 marked a pivotal moment, leading to the renaming and continued success of the joint venture as Clough Wood.

Peter Bennett, Clough CEO, said: "Reaching this 20-year milestone is a testament to the dedication and resilience of our teams. Our partnership with Wood has been instrumental in delivering outstanding services and creating value for our clients. We are proud of our achievements and look forward to continuing our legacy of excellence in the energy sector."

Clough Wood has been delivering the long-standing Santos-operated Bayu-Undan operations and maintenance contract since 2004, located offshore Darwin in the Timor Sea. This project highlights the joint venture's commitment to its people and client-base and its ability to adapt to the evolving needs of the industry.

Over the life of the Santos-operated Bayu-Undan project, the joint venture, in partnership with Caltech, has provided essential training for local Timorese in both craft and professionals disciplines onshore and offshore including fully certified technicians. Timorese personnel now account for 50 per cent of the project team.

Adam Cheesman, Wood’s Senior Vice President for Australia West, added: “This celebration recognises the strong foundation we've built for Clough Wood over the last two decades, and the continued commitment and hard work of our people. Our collaboration with Clough has allowed us to combine the best of our expertise to deliver safe, reliable operations for our clients.  We remain dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what's possible now, and in the next phase of the region’s energy sector.”

As Clough Wood looks to the future, the joint venture remains focused on enhancing its service offerings and exploring new opportunities within the industry. With a continued emphasis on safety, quality, and sustainability, Clough Wood is well-positioned to support the energy sector's growth and transformation.
