It’s Indigenous Business Month - an initiative that celebrates First Nations businesses, their stories, and ways of doing business to support a more sustainable Indigenous business sector.
In an Australian first, North East Link has teamed up with Yurringa Energy, an Aboriginal-owned renewable energy provider, to power its tunnel boring machines (TBMs) with 100% renewable energy.
This innovative collaboration will power the excavation of the 6.5km twin-lane tunnels, marking a significant step forward in sustainable infrastructure.
Beyond driving eco-friendly outcomes, this partnership with Yurringa Energy will also foster Indigenous employment by creating valuable training and development opportunities.

Webuild, as part of the Spark Joint Venture is delivering the North East Link tunnels for the Victorian government. The project will enable a more sustainable future by taking 15,000 trucks off local roads every day and reducing travel times by up to 35 minutes for commuters. Once complete, it will be the longest road tunnel in Victoria.
