Our Reconciliation Journey

SUPPORTING RECONCILIATION IN AUSTRALIA

We are proudly delivering the third Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) in our reconciliation journey.

We are committed to providing robust and accessible pathways for employment and business engagement for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, underpinned by meaningful education, training and development opportunities and long-standing community partnerships.

Since the commencement of our RAP journey in 2020, we have embedded 117 actions and initiatives to drive positive change for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples by delivering employment, education, and business opportunities and providing our workforce with experiences to reflect on and immerse themselves in the world’s oldest continuing living cultures.

OUR VISION

Our vision for reconciliation is to: enable equal participation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples across the nation-building projects we deliver. We will achieve this by delivering meaningful opportunities and pathways to employment, enhancing supplier diversity, and fostering a workforce and environment that embraces, respects, and celebrates the diverse cultures of First Nations Peoples.

CREATING MEANINGFUL OPPORTUNITIES

Our commitments to reconciliation encompass several key initiatives. These include investing in opportunities to gain a deeper understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures, establishing significant employment and educational prospects for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, enhancing representation within our supply chain, and aspiring to be a positive influence within the engineering and construction industries.

By delivering meaningful engagement opportunities in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses, organisations, and community partners, we are building a strengthened understanding and appreciation for First Nations cultures and histories in our workplace and communities.

MEET LEAH CUMMINS | THE ARTIST BEHIND OUR THIRD RAP ARTWORK ‘GROWTH IN UNITY.’

Leah Cummins is a proud Mayi woman from North-West Queensland - Mayi-Kulan from her father and Kalkadoon from her mother.

I find inspiration in my cultural identity and bring my stories of my Country and people to life in my art. I paint of stories of strength for women and children, love of the land and all my people. I pay respect to the ancestors who give me these stories in my creativity, to share my culture that transcends words and draws people into wanting to learn about First Nations people. I hope to inspire and uplift my people by contributing to the sharing of culture and stories through my art.” - Leah Cummins

OUR OFFICE MURUAL

In 2022, we engaged Melissa Spillman from Maarakool Art, a Noongar Aboriginal Artist to design a mural for our Perth office,

Titled 'Our Journey', the mural acknowledges and celebrates the traditional owners of the land, the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation. The background colours are representative of the Land, Clough and Water.

Clough acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands on which we work and live, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People. We pay our respect to their Elders past and present, and their continued care for this land.
