Scope of work

Clough completed the Design, Construction, and Commissioning contract for a waste composting facility for the Southern Metropolitan Regional Council (SMRC) located in Canning Vale, Perth.

The project involved the delivery of the waste composting facility, consisting of four “Eweson” rotating drum digesters, each 4.7m in diameter and 70m in length, a tipping building (to receive solid waste), an aeration building (to cure the compost) and a series of screens and conveyors to transport the product around the plant.

The commissioned facility processes household and other waste into marketable compost and recovers inorganic materials for recycling, handling municipal solid waste at a rate of 350 tonnes per day (109,000 tonnes per year) and reduced waste for landfill sites by more than 80%
