Scope of work

Clough completed the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for the upgrade of the Mundaring Weir Outlet, in Mundaring, Western Australia.

The project involved upgrades and refurbishments of the existing intake tower and outlet structures, that includes replacement of aging infrastructure and updating of the intake and outlet works to meet future climatic requirements.

The project extended the asset life of the dam pipework and structures, reduced dead storage capacity, reduced the surface area of the weir, to reduce annual evaporation and extended the asset life of dam pipework and structures, improved operational safety, and lowered the minimum operating level in the reservoir by 5.6m, which in turn reduces the surface area and thereby evaporation and giving a one-off provision of 10.5 GL to the Goldfields and Agricultural Water Supply (GAWS).
