Clough completed the construction of two refrigerated cryogenic storage tanks for liquid petroleum gas (LPG), together with the associated piping, pumping and control systems.
The two storage tanks have a capacity of 7000 tonnes each, one to store butane at minus 27 degrees Celsius, the other to store propane at minus 46 degrees Celsius. The tanks were designed to a double integrity system in which the LPG is stored in an inner tank surrounded by a bund wall. The inner tank sits on a concrete base slab requiring very tight tolerances on level. The circular base slab was poured monolithically, and the tolerances were achieved by using a specially designed large vibrating screed.
The project also involved the design and construction of a workshop and electrical substation building and the extension of an existing control building. Clough also completed all bulk earthworks, site preparation and road construction. cryogenic storage tanks for liquid petroleum gas, together with associated piping/pumping and control system.
