Webuild is pleased to announce its collaboration with Queensland Museum and the prestigious World Science Festival Brisbane (WSFB).
This year, Webuild has taken the role of main stage sponsor of City of Science, an action-packed program that encourages the whole family to discover the fun of science.
As one of the largest celebrations of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in the southern hemisphere, WSFB explores the pivotal role STEM plays in shaping modern life and addressing global concerns.
Now in its 9th year, the annual flagship Brisbane festival is complemented by World Science Festival Queensland, a program of regional engagement delivered throughout the year with festivals held in Toowoomba, Chinchilla, Ipswich, Townsville, and Gladstone.
Marco Assorati, Webuild Executive Director, said: “I am very excited for Webuild to be a part of this year’s World Science Festival Brisbane; it will truly bring the excitement of STEM to the local community. As a company deeply invested in innovation and sustainability, with an expansive history delivering engineering and construction projects worldwide, we know how important it is to nurture scientific curiosity and inspire future generations of STEM leaders.”
“Last year we celebrated 50 years in Queensland for Clough, our Australia subsidiary, and I am proud to share in their legacy, investing in the local community. Together we are ready to deliver the challenging and rewarding projects supporting the state’s future, its communities, and people,” Marco added.
At the heart of the festival are several cornerstone initiatives:
- Art/Science Program: Interactive displays positioned throughout Southbank inviting visitors to explore and engage with innovative scientific concepts.
- School STEM Programs: Developed for students from pre-primary to year 10, these programs aim to inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators.
- Webuild City of Science: A community activation that encourages participation and discovery among people of all ages. Here, visitors will be able to explore many of the exciting projects Webuild is delivering to safeguard the past and build the future.
- Labs Unlocked: Opening the doors to labs, research facilities and manufacturing plants across Brisbane, to give people a unique peek behind-the-scenes at the science in action all around us.
- Social Science: An adults only event with a focus on art and science through workshops, live paintings music, science podcasts and entry to Jurassic World by Brickman exhibition
Through this partnership, Webuild aims to inspire curiosity, spark creativity, and build a passion for STEM amongst individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
