Last year Clough signed a three-year Partnership Agreement with Engineers Australia for their Engineering Workforce Credentialling Program, supporting our engineers to become Chartered. Through our partnership, many of our engineers have seized the opportunity to attain their Chartership across various areas of engineering practice including, Leadership & Management, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Construction Engineering and Project Management.
Meet Vidya Sudhakaran, one of our innovative, driven engineers who has recently achieved Chartership status through the partnership.
Vidya joined Clough just over a year ago, and in this time has proven herself not only as a highly competent Electrical Engineer but also a great collaborator and addition to Clough.
“My journey as an Electrical Engineer with Clough began slightly over a year ago. I'm currently part of the Production Engineering Support (PES) team providing engineering support to our clients.
“Working in the Engineering and Construction industry provides me with the opportunity to thrive on the challenges and innovations inherent in problem-solving, and I'm driven by the opportunity to make a positive impact on society through sustainable design and collaborative teamwork.”
Vidya’s commitment to her craft has been noted by many of her colleagues, and chartership was the next logical step for her professional development.
“I chose to become charted as part of my commitment to continuous development and ethics in my engineering practice. Gaining chartership allows me to inspire and mentor others through their journey in engineering.
“Clough and Engineers Australia provided lots of guidance and resources to assist in concentrating on my competencies throughout my career. I was able to liaise with the assessor to understand the expectation of the assessment and interview, and this assisted me in narrowing down and elaborating on my professional attributes. Clough's leadership team and personal development programs (such as the mentoring program) also played a pivotal role in my chartership journey.”
At Clough, we are committed to building on our strong engineering legacy and continuing to make a positive impact in the communities in which we work and live.
“I am excited about the opportunities that Clough has in the pipeline but also the complexity of the projects that Clough undertakes and delivers.
“I am passionate about sustainable construction practices where energy-efficient technologies are incorporated, and we are reducing waste and emissions. Diversity and inclusion are other initiatives I am passionate about. I believe that promoting diversity and inclusion initiatives creates a more inclusive work environment and fosters a diverse workforce.
“Clough has a way of bringing people together, whether it is through projects, professional or social events and to me, this creates a strong bond. I'm elated that I'm part of the Clough family!
