Leading the charge on carbon accountability - Meet Lucy Whalen, Sustainability Construction Lead for Webuild, as part of the Spark North East Link Tunnels D&C team.

From conservation work in Melbourne to major rail projects in London, Lucy has built a career focused on reducing embodied carbon in the design and delivery of complex infrastructure. In her current role with Webuild on the North East Link project, Lucy has played a key role in achieving Australia’s first PAS 2080 certification. 

Her work has helped embed carbon management across teams, champion innovative low-carbon materials and construction methods, and inspire a culture where everyone owns the sustainability agenda. Now, as part of Webuild’s international Decarbonisation Working Group, Lucy is helping shape how carbon is managed across our global operations.
